SKETCHES AND DRAWINGS
Sketching is the key to brainstorming for me. If I have a problem to solve, I start from nothing sketching whatever comes to mind. That nothingness can develop into the most elegant drawings. But everything begins as a sketch.
MODELS
Developing 3 dimensional physical and digital models help me to understand the spaces I am creating. Manipulating scale in physical models greatly assist understanding in physical models and vice-versa. Digital models help me imagine and quickly render what a space could become.
POTTERY
During high school, I began to connect my 2 dimensional training and my 3 dimensional imagination through pottery. I used clay to create shapes and forms one would not naturally thing to make from the material. I developed an understanding of the material, and the patience, attention and focus required to complete a project.
